Miami Heat at Brooklyn net was one of the first game of the series. Kevin Duran was the best scorer in the game followed by Bam Adebayo. James Harding did not play a good game where he scored only 14 points. Bam Adebayo led the Miami team to that victory, scoring 24 points and picking up 9 rebounds. Jimmy Butler contributed 17 points and picked up 14 rebounds. Kyle Lowry who remained very shy in the game finished with 9 points, 9 rebounds. Tyler Herro contributed 14 points 8 rebounds. The big surprise in the game was Dewayne Dedmon who appeared to be a good addition to the Miami Heat.

Dewayne Dedmon played college basketball for Antelope Valley College. In 2013 he wasn't selected in the draft, and he went to play for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G-league. In 2014, he played for the 76ers, then he played for the Orlando Magic team. In the game against the Brooklyn net, he showed Miami's choice to renew his contract was a good choice. A reserve that filled a void after Miami Heat did not return with Kelly Olynx. The center position an obvious problem in the playoff for the team when Bam Adebayo went down in the series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
